Apr. 30th, 2010 12:47 amThe vascular surgeon tells me that all's well with my left leg now: every blood vessel they closed is staying closed, and there are no signs of side effects or trouble. It worked! \o/
He also tells me that the same trouble - venous stasis - is developing in the right leg and it'll need surgery too. They've put in for Medicaid preapproval. He added that they don't do this surgery in the hot months, because high-pressure compression stockings plus summer heat is not a winning combination. Given the speed of Medicaid approvals, I'm guessing that means having it come fall.
I also have a prescription for the next higher level of compression stockings, at knee height. I'll see about getting those next week; I really need a weekend off. :)
Also, I took an initial dose of trazodone, the anti-depressant Dave (my doctor) recommended for sleep help. (Mel, you guessed right.) Wow did it work. I'm roused from five hours of really, really deep sleep, and will likely be going back for some more in a little while. Feels nice.
