I've got my sleep specialist appointment coming up in a couple of weeks, as I mentioned before. But I've also been looking at what I might do on my own to deal with any of this exhaustion problem. And I found something, and tried it, and first results are really promising!
Lately, I've been slumping moderately to severely very nearly every afternoon, and I know that with warmer weather coming there'll be more of that. It dawned (so to speak) on me a few days ago that I might try sleeping then, and skip the stress of thudding. So, yesterday I gave it a try, taking my trazodone about 2 pm and settling down.
First results: mixed, but good.
It was warm enough yesterday that I overheated some, and had to get up to set up a fan to blow past me. But it worked. I ended up spending a lot of time in a state that didn't feel exactly like sleeping, but...well, as I told Mom later, it reminded me some of that state you can get in on long car trips when someone else is driving and the company's good, where you don't sleep a long time at any one stretch, but you get halfway-sleeping dreams and do get genuine rest. It was like that.
I spent, hmm, maybe 5-6 hours in that state. Then I was up for a few hours, and then went back to bed for some seriously deep sleep for another 4 hours or so.
I feel better rested than I have in some time. Probably since before the new year, in fact. I am therefore going to try it again!
